Why LPG is good for the environment:
Our environment is under severe strain right now, and we all need to do everything we possibly can to reduce pollution, both right now and in the future. Electric cars are the future, due to no direct emissions in use, but they are very expensive to buy - and it will take many years until most cars on the road are electric. There are presently environmental problems with batteries as well. Diesel has it's own problems, and recent findings confirm serious effects on health in many towns and cities. Indeed, many cities are preparing to ban or restrict diesel cars due to air quality concerns.
LPG can act as a bridge to a greener future, because right now, there are a great many petrol cars on the road, and LPG can help to reduce the pollution they emit. All petrol cars, even the latest Direct Injection cars can be fitted with an LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas) conversion, turning them into ‘dual-fuel cars’ that can run on LPG as well as petrol.
One car running on diesel produces the same amount of NOx as more than 20 cars using LPG. The emission of particulate matter (PM) from LPG-fuelled cars in the city cycle is also lower than the minimum measurable level.
So, if you need to use a car and want to do something to help in the fight against climate change, an LPG conversion is a great way to do it.
